Gary & Christine Rood

Gary J. Rood, founder and Chairman of LifeStyles, has been involved with the administration and management of health and senior care projects for more than 25 years. Gary and his home office team are based in Vancouver, Washington. The team is varied, both in age and experience, providing a depth of wisdom found in well-established older companies, yet exhibiting the eager enthusiasm of a relatively young company. LifeStyles LLC is small, flexible, and non-bureaucratic in structure and function. This allows for timely decisions and responsiveness which are exciting to building administrators and beneficial to residents.

We currently operate 10 communities in three western states. Choosing to grow slowly has allowed us to maintain a personal touch with each building, creating campus settings that resemble friendly neighborhoods. Residents and their families enjoy the atmosphere and quickly become part of our extended family. Satisfying our residents and their families is paramount. Cindy Lamar, Co-President

Cindy joined Lifestyles in 2001. Formerlly the Controller and then CFO, in 2009 Cindy was promoted to Co-President with resposibility for overseeing all aspects of development, acquisitions, and financial operartions at the corporate level, supporting all LifeStyles Managed Properties. Cindy's business and financial expertise spans more than 20 years with impressive highlights in the operational and financial management arena. Cindy came to LifeStyles with a broad background of financial and business ownership experience, making her well qualified for this position. Her past personal ownership of companies and knowledge of operational finance as well as international finance have provided her a strong foundation for her work with lenders in the originating, refinance and supplemental loans of all facility managed properties. She works closely with the Co-President of Operations in the monitoring and reporting of all buildings' monthly financial performance.

Cindy has served on various Boards of Directors and has travelled extensively throughout Asia in an owner/buyer/financier role. She has spent time consulting with small businesses in critical management strategies. She enjoys writing and has contributed articles for publication in a local business journal.


Tammy Thwaite, Co-President

Tammy has been involved in the Senior Housing Industry since 1994 and LifeStyles since 2001 holding positions including Community Relations Director, Regional Marketing Director, Executive Director and currently Lifestyles Senior Housing Co-President.

Tammy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations at the corporate level, supporting all LifeStyles Managed Properties. She works closely with the Executive Directors providing support in employee relations, maintaining occupancy, meeting financial expectations, meeting regulatory requirements, and providing extraordinary resident care and satisfaction.

In addition to this role, she works closely with the Executive Directors and Community Relations Staff of each community to ensure that their marketing efforts and the tools being utilized are most effective in reaching their target audience to maintain a high level of occupancy.
